Hello Old Friend
Hello Craig,
It's been a long, long time since we last spoke, but when I heard of your battle, through conversation with Teddy, I knew it was time to touch base.
My remembrances of the times we had are so..... "Norman Rockwell-ish". I remember that you alway took time to play games with the younger crowd. I so much enjoyed the Home Run Derby we'd play in your backyard, and the games of Pickle that we'd play on the sidewalk. It seems to me that you always assumed the name of Al Kaline. What fun! Kids without a care in the world!
I remember how proud I was of you being an officer on Hoover's Safety Patrol (Lieutenant?), and what an adventure it was when Teddy, and I would get up early to help on your paper route.
What patience you had Craig. Amazing patience, and... love.
If I could give you something really special today, it would be a return to one of those warm summer afternoons, when health wasn't a concern. Our two families could, perhaps, gather on my parent's front porch, and listen to an Ernie Harwell, and Paul Carey broadcast.
My hopes and prayers are with you Craig.
Warm Wishes,
Fred Mick
